So you just created what you believe to be the greatest blog in the history of mankind… now what? The “build it and they will come” mentality doesn’t apply to the internet blogosphere unfortunately and you’ll have to take active steps to make your blog known to the rest of the world. Let me give you a couple of simple tips that will help you propel your blog (e.g. www.bestwebsitesdesigner.com) to new heights:
Create a Reaction
Provocation and polarizing views are one of the greatest ways to get your site known. Think Perez Hilton… The main reason his blog skyrocketed from being an obscure blog in a forgotten corner of the blogosphere to being arguably the most popular blog online is because he was not afraid to express his opinions no matter how crude or controversial they might be. If your blog creates fierce reactions among your viewers, they will be more active in your comments, talk about it to their friends and your site will grow in popularity without you spending a red cent.
Release a Free Report
Release a short free report one a subject related to your site and allow your subscribers to distribute it freely. Of course, your blog’s address will be peppered all trough the text and the readers should be prompted to visit your blog to get more information on the subject of the report. As more and more readers download and re-distribute your report to their acquaintances for free, more and more visitors will be hitting the gates to your blog…
Social Bookmarking
Use social bookmarking sites such as Digg and encourage your readers to vote for your blog posts. Make sure that your headlines are thought provoking and straight to the point so that people will be interested to read your posts. Lists do very well on such bookmarking sites, so keep that in mind if you want to create a post that will be Digged by many viewers.
Comment On Other Blogs
Try to comment on has much related blogs you can find and try to be as provocative as possible without offending anyone. This will encourage others to respond to your comments and visit your blog to learn more about you.
Grey Hat Strategies
There are some traffic building strategies that are not really ethical, but are still very efficient if you don’t mind bending the rules a bit. One of those methods is posting comments yourself on your blogs or hire people to post comments on your blog to keep the content fresh. You can also pay people to Digg your stories so they can make it on their first page. I am not a big fan of these methods, but I thought I should make them known to you anyways…
If you use these methods properly and don’t mind putting the extra work it takes to make a blog truly popular, you should start getting more and more followers… So don’t give up, be proactive and the visitors will come eventually…
