If you go online on a daily basis, you are most likely to develop a pattern or routine as to which websites you visit every time you are online. To save you time, you can opt to have your favorite website your homepage. A homepage is the first thing that loads on your browser each time that you go into the Internet. So, if you have the site that you visit the most as your homepage, you don’t have to type in the address anymore since it already shows up as you open your browser. You can easily know how to make a website your homepage but the steps slightly differ depending on the Internet browser you are using.
This article will discuss how to make a website your homepage for Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Safari web browsers.
First, let’s tackle Internet Explorer. Open the web page that you desire as your homepage. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options. In the Internet Options box, go to the General Tab, then click the Use Current button. Click OK. So, every time you are using Internet Explorer and you want to go to your chosen homepage, just click the Home button on the browser. Some people would want to have a blank page as their home page. For this option, instead of clicking the Use Current button, the Use Blank button should be clicked on. This is a preference for some people since it allows the browser to start up fast.
If you are using the Mozilla Firefox browser, the steps are as follows. On the Tools menu, click on Options. Once you are in the Options box, click under the Main tab. There you will see a text box with “Homepage” preceding it. You can type out the address of the website or if you are currently on your desired homepage, click on the Current Page button. If you are on a Mac, the steps are slightly different. You will have to click on the Firefox menu and click Preferences. In the Preference box, under the Main tab, you will see the text bar labeled “Home Page”. You can just type your desired homepage on it. There is also the “Use Current Pages” button which you can click if you are currently on your desired homepage. Beside it is the Use Bookmark button, which will prompt a box to appear showing your bookmarked pages. Just click on the one that you want to be your homepage. There is a third button that says, Restore to Default. Clicking this will make Mozilla Firefox your homepage.
If you are a Safari user the steps on how to make a website your homepage are also as easy. Just go first to the desired homepage when you open the browser. Then, click on the Safari menu and choose Preferences. Under the General tab is a text box where you can see the “Set to Current Page” button under it. Click on it, then close the box. The next time you open Safari, it will show your chosen homepage.
